Representatives of the Southern Independent Group participating in the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council held an important meeting with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the organization's headquarters in the United Nations compound in Geneva on Tuesday, 17 September 2019.

During the meeting, representatives of the independent southern group briefed the International Red Cross on the latest developments in Yemen in general and the south in particular.

ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other extremist ideological groups set out from the northern governorates of Marib, al-Jawf, and al-Bayda, and committed large-scale crimes and abuses against innocent people in Shabwa and Abyan governorates. Some of them have not yet been recovered.
